Little Punnetts enters its second successful year!

Little Punnetts Pre School is entering its second year since first opening its doors in January 2009. The past year has seen them move from strength to strength, increasing the number of days they are open and the number of pupils rocket!

Successful events over the past year have included its Official Opening in March 2009, a fun and fabulous Animal Sports Day in July and their first Christmas Nativity, which involved all the pupils and staff taking part, followed by music and dancing at the end of year party!

The year has also seen the Staff and Parents joining forces to create a Nature Garden for the children to explore and a Vegetable Garden where the children learn to grow and care for the food they eat.

Little Punnetts has been awarded a Health Improvement Grant of £500 from the Wealden Primary Care Trust. This has paid for the children to have all-in-one waterproof suits for outdoors and also a selection of games to help them learn about healthy eating, nutrition and how plants grow.

October also saw another successful Open Day where prospective parents came to see all the wonderful equipment on offer and meet the friendly and caring staff.

January 2010 has seen Little Punnetts opening its doors for all five days, both morning and afternoon sessions. Louise Luck, Pre School Supervisor, commented 'Our success has enabled us to offer a full week of sessions for children aged 2 – 5 years. The children here love exploring all of our new equipment, especially our new purpose built outdoor shelter, which was completed in January.' She added 'We are fortunate to be based on site at Punnetts Town Primary School and are able to offer many facilities which would not normally be available to a pre-school. For example: freshly prepared hot lunches, extensive outdoor play areas, school library and hall, and all the resources it has to offer. These are in addition to the extensive indoor and outdoor facilities we offer ourselves.'

Little Punnetts Pre School is open 8.50am to 3.20pm five days a week.

Spaces are still available for children aged 2 – 5years.
